Love By Emi is an Australian baby and toddler sleep brand from Western Australia. We design musical comforters, mini comforters and interactive plush characters that help little ones settle at sleep time, at home and on the go.

How Love By Emi started

Love By Emi began at home in Western Australia with a dad of three girls and some very long nights. The things that helped (white noise from a tablet, a soft blanket, a cuddly toy) were never in the same place when they were needed. So we designed one thing that did all of it and could go anywhere: a soft character comforter with a small sound box inside that plays white noise and a lullaby.

Our first characters were chosen and named by our own children. Since then every new character has been named after a child in the family or a close family friend. That is also where the name comes from: Emi is made from the first letters of our three girls' names.

Our motto is simple: rested families are happier and safer families.

What we make

• Musical comforters (also called loveys or sleep toys). A soft plush character with a blanket body and a removable sound box that plays white noise or a classic lullaby, with a 20 or 40 minute auto shut-off and two volume levels. The sound box lifts out so the comforter is machine washable. A strap at the base holds a dummy or attaches to a pram. Runs on 2 x AAA batteries (not included).
• Two-packs and sleep bundles. The same character twice (one for home, one for daycare or grandparents'), or two characters paired together.
• Mini comforters. A smaller, lighter comforter without a sound box, sized for little hands and the nappy bag.
• Interactive plush. A talking tiger and giraffe for ages 3 and up, with a touch sensor on the head, songs on one paw and a voice recorder on the other that plays back in a funny voice. Runs on 3 x AA batteries (not included).
• Portable change pads and portable baby chairs for days out.

Our characters

Every musical comforter is a named character: Delly the White Tiger, Shay the Giraffe, Aria the Giraffe, Ellie the Elephant, Indi the Tiger, Maisie the Unicorn, Dash the Dinosaur, Billy the French Bulldog, Lylah the Cow, Harli the Husky, Zaylee the Duck, RaRa the Frog and Flutter the Butterfly. Delly and Shay are our best sellers.

Safe sleep

We follow the cautious end of the published advice. Red Nose Australia says soft items can go in the cot from 7 months; the American Academy of Pediatrics says 12 months. We recommend waiting until 12 months before a comforter goes in the cot. Before then it is made for supervised play, the pram, the change table and your arms. Read more on our safe sleep page.

Quality and warranty

Every product is designed in Western Australia and covered by a 12-month warranty. Spare sound boxes and plush comforters are sold separately in spare parts, so a lost or worn part does not mean replacing the whole comforter.
