We love sleep, who doesn't right?
So when we had our first baby our precious 8 hours of sleep every night quickly became a thing of the past. Then all of a sudden we had TWO!
The struggle to get more than an hour or two of unbroken sleep was enormous. It was a real test of our parenting skills. Yes, we may have managed 6-7 hours each night if we were lucky, but that was over 10-11 hours of effort.
We needed help but had no idea what our baby needed. We tried white noise from the iPad, a soft blanket and toy to snuggle, projector lights on the roof etc etc... All had some benefit and definitely helped. But we wanted something we could take with us, something portable, something that no matter where we were, if baby was tired or upset we could give it to her and it would soothe and comfort her.
Move forward 4 years and we now have 3 girls who all love their Lovey. When old enough Indi, Maisie & Ellie all chose their own animals to create and name. They take pride in helping other children rest easier at sleep time. And as parents, we take pride in knowing we have helped other parents, even if it is only 10-20 mins each nap time.
